Lamae Loo

Mrs Lamae Loo is an acclaimed piano pedagogue in the US. She received her LRSM (London) in 1959 and M. Mus in the US in 1965. Loo was awarded a scholarship from the University of Michigan to study under the DMA programme from 1965 to 1967 and became a faculty member of the Eastern Michigan University from 1967 to 1969 while she was the President of the Ann Arbor Area Music Teachers' Association.

 

Mrs Loo has been adjudicating for the National Guild of Piano Teachers throughout the US as a Faculty Member from 1968 to 1998 and is an evaluator of the Music Teachers' Association of California while adjudicating Local and State Competitions throughout California after her family moved there in 1972. She is a founding member of the US Open Music  Competition in 1992 and became their president since 2014.

 

Mrs Loo was the adjudicator and the organising committee of the 1st Hong Kong Open Music Competition (Piano) in 2018. They have an International Competition annually in February for a week with more than 2700 entries for this coming February 2019.

Jovianney Emmanuel Cruz

Jovianney Emmauel Cruz is an internationally renowned and multi- awarded Filipino concert pianist gifted with a rare versatility. He was a prize winner in the Jose Iturbi (Valencia), the Pilar Bayona (Zaragoza), the Jaen International Piano Competitions in Spain and etc. He has also performed as soloist numerously with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, the Manhattan Philharmonic, the Queens Symphony and etc.

 

A former child prodigy, Mr. Cruz began his piano studies at the age of three with his mother, Lourdes L. Villanueva-Cruz. At age 5, he was invited to give a command performance at the Malacañang Palace and at age 10, he made his orcheestral debut with the Philippine Youth Orchestra after winning First Prize in the National Music Competitions for Young Artists. He studied in the Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, then transferred to New York to pursue scholarships at the Manhattan School of Music. And he received his Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees in Piano Performance, and was awarded the coveted Harold Bauer Award.

 

As a mentor, Mr. Cruz has produced prize-winning students and is often invited to give master classes in the prestigious music institutions & festival worldwide. He is a Co-Founder & Artistic Director of Ang Misyon, OPUSFEST and formerly a Founding Trustee & the Artistic Director of FILFEST. Mr. Cruz has been invited as a Juror in the 1st ASEAN International Chopin Piano Competition in Kuala Lumpur. He was also an Adjudicator in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and the 1st Hong Kong Open Music Competition (Piano) in 2018 numerous times.

Julie Kuok

Julie is a Steinway artist active in performance, composition and music education. She is also the hostess of the "ABRSM piano exam" at the RTHK radio 4 from 2014-2016 and is currently a piano faculty member at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Baptist University. Organised in groups of four, Julie Kuok's Piano Workshop offers a unique experience where students take turns in playing and observing before the maestro - an enviable learning experience that no serious piano learner should miss.

Hui Ling

Lecturer at the Hong Kong Academy of Performinig Arts, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Baptist University of Hong Kong, Hui Ling's status as one of Hong Kong's top music educator is unparalleled.  Organised in groups of four, Hui Ling's Piano Workshop offers a unique experience where students take turns in playing and observing before the maestro - an enviable learning experience that no serious piano learner should miss.

 

Martin Choy

Credited as one of the founders and former principal clarinetist of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Martin Choy had almost 40 years of teaching the clarinet and coaching wind ensembles locally and over the world.  Joining Martin Choy's Clarinet Camerata is sure-way to learn with one of the giants of the Hong Kong classical music industry.
